Youth Services
Workforce Partnership is the local Workforce Investment Act Youth Provider serving youth in Wyandotte, Johnson, and Leavenworth counties. Success is based on: preparing youth for employment, improving educational achievements, and the support services to get there.
Youth services target individuals who are low-income and who meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Basic skills deficient in Reading and/or Math
- Foster child
- Homeless
- Ex-offender
- Pregnant or a parent
- Runaway
- School dropout
- Requires additional assistance to complete an education program or to secure and hold employment
Opportunities
The services offered are designed to assist youth with: supportive services such as mentoring and tutoring for those in high school; finding a job and career path; and post-secondary education or training.

- Internships (paid and unpaid)
- On-the-Job occupational skills training
- Classroom occupational skills training
- Summer employment opportunities
- Individual tutoring and study skills
- Dropout prevention
- Referrals to alternative high school services
- Adult mentoring
- Individual guidance and counseling
- Childcare and transportation allowances
- Leadership development activities
